Oncology 101

Ok. So the appointment today left me feeling hopeful yet frustrated. My scans came back and it appears my chest and abdomen haven’t been affected! There are a few lymph nodes they’re concerned about, but overall I’m getting the feeling we may have caught it early. The tumor I have that was biopsied is about the size of a walnut right now… Hopefully, Fridays pet scan will come back showing the tumor is the only cancerous region. (Prayers and finger crossing!)

On a side note, I’m trying to get a different oncologist. I wasn’t impressed with this one for a few reasons and I feel like with such a rare cancer I need someone who knows what they are doing. Thanks to some really amazing people in my life (Jared’s family) I may be getting my second opinion from a top notch oncologist in Boston.

This has been a crazy week for me, but I want to thank everyone for all the prayers and best wishes. I’ve always been very independent, so I never knew until now the kind of support system I had. I am overwhelmed with the love, kindness, and support I have received from my friends, family, and coworkers. You have all given me a very good reason to fight… And I promise not to let you down.
